Things to See and Do
The Wildwoods, consists of North
Wildwood (including Anglesea),
Wildwood
(including West Wildwood) and Wildwood Crest
(including Diamond Beach). It is the largest barrier island in South
Jersey and is located between the islands of Stone Harbor at its
north and Cape May at its south.
All the
Wildwood Beaches are big, beautiful and free. This is one of the few islands
where there are no beach
tags!
The beaches are beautiful, white, safe, and guarded from
Memorial Day until Labor Day - 10 AM - 5:30 PM. These beaches are
the widest at the Jersey shore. Where other beaches in South Jersey
have a tendency to erode each year, Wildwood seems to be the
recipient of their "lost" beaches. Best of all - there are no beach
fees. No alcohol, barbeques or glass containers allowed on any of
the beaches.
Wildwood Boardwalk
- The boardwalk is two and a half miles of fun with 3 amusement
piers, 2 water parks, 7 roller coasters. It boasts of the tallest
ferris wheel on East coast, carnival games, convention center, movie
theaters, shopping and eateries. If you don't want to walk , you can
ride on the trams which run continuously. At night, the boardwalk
takes on its own personality with flashing neon lights, music, and a
friendly carnival atmosphere.

Things to See and Do
The Wildwoods (collective name for
North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest which also includes West
Wildwood, Anglesea and Diamond Beach - Diamond Beach is in a
different township but so not to confuse you, we have included it
also in The Wildwoods) has something for everyone - from
amusements on the boardwalk and throughout the boroughs to clubs,
bars and cafes for after hour entertainment.
There are so many things to see and do in
The Wildwoods. Special events are planned throughout the
entire year. You can go to the best beaches in South
Jersey to swim and sun, enjoy the rides and "carnival
games" on the boardwalk or go to the water parks. You
can just walk on the boardwalk, ride a tram or ride
bikes on the boards and all around the island. Bike
rentals are available in numerous places in North
Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest. You can ride
bikes until 11:00 AM on weekdays and 10:30 am on
weekends and holidays. No skating allowed.
You can ride bikes on the boardwalk or
ride along a designated bicycle path from Anglesea to
26th Avenue all along Surf Avenue in the city of
Wildwood. Wildwood Crest has a paved beachfront bike
path and North Wildwood has a path that runs from the
end of the Boardwalk at 16th Avenue north to 2nd Avenue.
There are so many things
to see and do in The Wildwoods. Besides the boating and
fishing, amusements, nightlife and museums, you can take
yourself and the kids miniature golfing
or how about bowling. Besides the boardwalk and beach
activities, there are museums and the famous Hereford
Lighthouse. If you want to play golf, there are
excellent golf courses in the area and of course -
miniature golf courses as well. If fishing and boating
is what you enjoy - then The Wildwoods is the place to
be!
